EFS thinks outside the square

BT Bamboo is not only about an eco-flooring solution. The natural bending properties of bamboo made BT bamboo planks the ideal answer for a unique exhibition display.

The newly opened Centre for Moving Images in Melbourne (ACMI) has used BT Bamboo for the curved displays and walls in the stunning new gallery.

The international designer wanted to find a lightly coloured, flexible, natural material for the walls and curved surfaces in the exhibition. Eco Flooring worked with the project managers to find a solution. Testing was done with regards to the flexibility of the material and the ability to curve around the walls. A thinner square-edged natural BT Bamboo plank was ideal for this application. Accentuating the natural beauty of the bamboo in the horizontal construction, a 4mm raw plank was specifically produced for the project and coated on site.
